Some proposals are all about the moment, while others have a setting that makes the moment even more memorable. For Sawyer and Sarah, that setting was Percy Warner Park in Nashville, overlooking the iconic steps often called the “Stairway to Heaven.”
Having met in college, Sawyer and Sarah have already shared an important chapter of their story. Now, with bright plans for the future, they’re ready to begin the next one together.
The two were dressed beautifully for the occasion, with colorful outfits that added a wonderful touch of personality to the photographs. Sarah had an especially personal contribution to her look: she made her own dress! That kind of creativity makes an already special occasion even more meaningful.
With the park providing a beautiful backdrop, Sawyer popped the question, and Sarah said yes! The location offered a lovely combination of natural scenery and the distinctive architecture of Percy Warner Park’s famous steps, making it a perfect spot to document such an important milestone.
Of course, no photography adventure would be complete without a little unexpected excitement.
On the way to the proposal, I managed to get a flat tire. Fortunately, I had enough time to pull over, put on the spare, clean my hands with hand sanitizer, and get back on the road.
And that, folks, is exactly why you leave early for any professional gig. 😂
When you’re photographing a once-in-a-lifetime moment, there’s no room for running late. A little extra time can make all the difference when life decides to throw a flat tire into your plans.
Thankfully, everything worked out, and I arrived ready to capture Sawyer and Sarah’s big moment.
It was a pleasure documenting this exciting milestone for a couple with so much ahead of them. From their colorful, thoughtfully chosen outfits to the beautiful setting overlooking the Stairway to Heaven, their proposal was full of personality and memorable details.
Congratulations to Sawyer and Sarah! Here’s to a wonderful future together and all the adventures that lie ahead.
