Becky + Josh | St. Rose of Lima & Stone Gate Farm Wedding-Nashville and Murfreesboro wedding photography

Becky and Josh’s wedding day was one of those celebrations where the story ran deeper than the day itself. Both of them grew up with ties to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Murfreesboro, so beginning their marriage there felt like returning to their roots. The familiar walls, the echoes of shared history, and the faces of people who had been part of their journeys since childhood gave the ceremony a beautiful sense of homecoming.

The day would not start without a bit of ironic twisted humor in its own form. Shortly after my arrival, the couple chose to do a first look in the outside garden of the church before the ceremony / mass. Due to the extreme heat and humidity, not only did Josh's glasses fog up, but so did my camera lens—though we got that sorted. As threatening clouds loomed overhead, we had seconds to let Becky out and let them have their very brief moment before the flood gates opened. Thankfully, this was a short-lived pop-up shower.

After the vows, the couple chose something close to their hearts — a casual gathering with family at the after party (rather than reception title). At first, Becky wondered if this time was too casual to warrant photographs, but I gently reminded her that these are often the most fleeting, most meaningful moments: generations together in one place, laughter and quiet conversations between relatives who don’t often cross paths. She agreed — and as it turned out, those images became some of the most cherished of the day.

The after party took place after the ceremony at Stone Gate Farm, where rustic charm provided a warm gathering place. Friends and family filled the space with positive energy, stories, BBQ dinner, and games of cornhole. The evening glowed with warmth — from the golden Tennessee light filtering through the trees to the genuine moments of connection that unfolded organically.

What made this day unforgettable wasn’t just the venues or the details, but the spirit of it all: the roots of faith, the closeness of family, and the joy of beginning a new chapter surrounded by love. Becky wanted a photographer who could be a storyteller — someone to capture the true and organic moments that define a wedding day. Becky's choices were numerous with oceans of Nashville wedding photographers—I’m grateful she trusted me, and the documentary wedding photography approach with that role.

I hope you enjoy their photo film, made from photos that highlight their lovely wedding day
