I had the honor and pleasure to photograph a great performance from Nashville In Harmony for their Christmas concert, Making Spirits Bright. This was my second time documenting a Nashville In Harmony event, and I certainly look forward to more!
The performance was held at Vanderbilt Langford Auditorium in early December, 2018. NIH has a powerful choir and band, they always put on a great show that fills the audience’s heart with love and kindness, something we all need.
Here are some words directly from the Nashville In Harmony website. “Nashville in Harmony (NiH) is Tennessee’s first and only musical arts organization specifically created for people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, gender expressions, and their allies. With a mission to “use music to build community and create social change,” NiH brings people together both within the LGBT community and the community at large.”
The goal for me as the event photographer was to document the real moments of the concert performance, interaction between the audience / staff, etc. While being non-intrusive to guests, similar to my approach at weddings. They brought it, I documented it, everyone was happy. NIH has expenses to meet to continue their work. I would encourage you to attend a concert and see how it moves you, or to offer support to them through a donation.
