I had the distinct pleasure of meeting David and Bev just over a month from their wedding. The couple wanted to enjoy their day and not have to deal with posed photos, which is where I came in as a documentary photographer. Indeed I’m honored to be their Nashville wedding photographer of choice. Their plans were to enjoy the company of their friends and family and have a backyard garden wedding at their home, which was manicured so beautifully. With rented chairs, a string quartet, and sun drenched late afternoon in October, it set the mood perfectly. The ceremony was beautiful! The greatest and most random surprise is what’s to come at the reception, which (spoiler alert) got my attention at our first communication. First, I shall share some photos from their perfect day!
When we were exchanging emails, Bev said the reception would be at Joelton Hardware, folliwibg the garden wedding ceremony. This unique concept immediately piqued my interest. We decided to meet there for the consult, and I had no idea what awaited me; thinking it was probably just a cool old-time hardware store. Which it is; however, it’s also a music venue and bar / cafe. It’s a nearby favorite spot where David and Bev like to go to enjoy a beer, burger, and live band on Saturday nights. The venue had never hosted a wedding event before, and I must say their pilot event was a huge success. Everyone was served and satisfied and the staff was amazing. I look forward to visiting them again. The band played, food and drinks were served, people mingled, people danced. A good time was had by all, us included. All in all a perfect day and a perfect match between couple and wedding photographer. Congratulations David and Bev!
